…but there IS a bird named Boetje!
Here in the Quad Cities there is a fairly famous pair of nesting peregrine falcons. Their home is located on the roof of the Mid-American Energy building in downtown Davenport, and the entire Quad City Area has named the birds and tracks their family’s progress. There is even a web-cam set up so that you can view the falcons.
On May 7th three new falcons hatched and the citizens of the Quad Cities were invited to submit names for the new birds. The winning names were announced a couple weeks ago: Horus (a bird-like Egyptian diety,) Glide (for the movement of the birds,) and… you guessed it… Boetje!
It’s exciting to us here at Boetje Foods Inc. to be such an integral part of this community. Thank you to all our Quad City friends!
